Mikesch & Charly Brown (blood in urine)
Dear Anifit Team,
I would like to tell you about my experience with Anifit, which we have been feeding since May 2012.
My cat Mikesch is three years old and my cat Charly Brown is two years old. Mikesch is a very quiet cat who likes to keep his distance. About 1.5 years ago he was given a special food by the vet because he had blood in his urine. The doctor suspected that Mikesch had urinary gravel. The special food was very expensive, so I thought it had good ingredients. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Fortunately, I got to know my specialist advisor Mr Zintl, who pointed this out to me. It's hard to believe the amount of waste and additives that conventional feed contains.
Nevertheless, I was very worried about changing the cat food because I was afraid that if I stopped feeding the special food, Mikesch would have blood in his urine again. In addition, our cats found the change of food very difficult. This was probably due to the fact that the old food, like many others, contained attractants, which caused the animals to reject other cat food for the first time.
That's why I changed the food slowly, i.e. 1:1 = one part old food and one part Anifit. The changeover phase was not always easy. On some days, my cats left Anifit out completely or partially until they could no longer enjoy it. But I didn't give up. After about two weeks it slowly got better and after four weeks they were both eating Anifit pet food well. I didn't really believe my consultant Mr Zintl's statement that Anifit would bring about positive changes in the animals. But after just three to four weeks, I noticed a change in both our tomcats.
The quiet, reserved Mikesch became more mobile, more playful and got more and more involved with us over time. Charly also became much more agile and now needed a little more activity. They both move around a lot more than before and don't just lie around lazily. Both cats are much more trusting.
Mikesch has even put on weight. This is probably due to the fact that Anifit is much more nutritious and they don't need to be fed as much as with conventional food. Mikesch has not had any more blood in his urine so far. I am very glad that I switched to Anifit despite initial difficulties.
Since the animals have been given Anifit food, the litter tray is no longer as full as it used to be. The faeces are firm and well-settled, which is a sign of the high-quality food. I had thought that because our cats used to only eat dry food, they would now have diarrhoea. But not at all - the stools are always very firm.
I am also totally delighted with the Anifit cat litter. I only need a little litter and it clumps really well. It's not harmful to the animals and can even be disposed of in the toilet.
A big compliment to the Anifit company, we are very satisfied.
